1. SARF

The Meaning of SARF

The overall vision of SARF is to support the restaurant sector by promoting and creating opportunities to raise profile and generate growth in both existing and new quality restaurants.

The aspiration of SARF is to encourage open dialogue and facilitate better exchange of information to promote Sheffield’s food offer.   SARF is a partnership and representation of Restaurateurs, Sheffield Hallam University, Yorkshire South (DMP), Sheffield City Council (SCC), Sheffield College, Business Link South Yorkshire (BLSY), Yorkshire Forward and Creative Sheffield/Tourism.

Collaboration1

The collaborative commitment of each party is to determining the process for best development of our food and drink industry, drawing on the contribution of collective experience, intellectual resource and funding.

This joint initiative is designed to deliver a leadership framework for the development of the restaurant, food and drink sector, and to establish a benchmark for industry cooperation and communication.

The combination of food and drink as a regional experience brings the elements of sharing, nurturing and communication together. In many instances the location may be the catalyst, however it is the food, wine, ambience and people that become the central characters of memorable experiences. To this end it must be remembered that all activities and initiatives of the SARF Strategy Partnership must be relevant from the consumer’s perspective.

The following strategy represents a consensus of commitment to positioning Sheffield as a recognised high quality food and drink destination for domestic and overseas visitors.   NEXT
