 The ‘2008 Sheffield Area Restaurateurs Awards' took place on Monday 14th April where just under 300 restaurateurs and supporters gathered at Bramall Lane's Millenium Suites for a fun packed night of food, drink, music and of course the all important awards. The event proved to be a tremendous success and it  was enormously gratifying to see so many restaurateurs in attendance where Master of Ceremonies Peter McNerney, Eat Sheffield Boss Sean O'Toole and a host of Sponsors handed out the category awards as voted by the public.  Back in March 2008, we asked the public cast their votes for their favourite establishments in they did in their thousands (17,500 individual vote clicks). We challenged Sheffield area food lovers to put their taste buds and expertise to the test by  casting their votes for their favourite restaurant establishments via an online voting system. We quite simply thought the best judges for this event were the very people that support the restaurant industry with out of home dining. Thank you to everyone who kindly participated.
