Previous wedding guests have been stunned by Fischer’s Michelin starred food, “the assiette of desserts is still a talking point with most of my friends and family – they were truly delicious and so beautifully presented”. Head Chef Rupert Rowley uses classic favourites with more modern combinations and relies heavily on British produce and vegetables grown in our own garden. Wedding menus include Ravioli of Salmon and Crab, Roast Saddle of Derbyshire Lamb with Dauphinoise Potatoes and Thyme Jus as well as our famous Glazed Lemon Tart.

Eleven bedrooms are individually styled and are ideal for the Bride, Bridesmaids and other guests to stay. The emphasis is on comfort with good beds, quality Egyptian cotton bedding, fluffy white towels, robes and luxurious toiletries.

On Monday 5th March the Wig and Pen are hosting Joel White and Simon Peat for an evening of jazz music. Joel is an experienced piano vocalist with a wealth of experience and passion, and has played various locations in Sheffield, and nationwide, with his 7-piece band.  He will be playing from 7:30pm until 10pm, so come down and enjoy a glass of red and some great music. There's no need to book, just come along!

With a friendship based on all things food-related it was inevitable that food bloggers Ros Arksey aka Nibbly Pig and Clare Tollick aka Feast And Glory would get together to work on a food project. And after many emails, meetings around meals, tweets and planning we can now announce the arrival of ‘Appetite’.

Appetite will focus on Sheffield food producers and restaurateurs and our aim is to draw local foodies, from all walks of life, together to share their love of food. Our first event will be held at Fusion Organic Café on 6 th March (6.45-9pm). It will focus purely on Sheffield food producers and give people the opportunity to meet local food idols such as Stephen from Moss Valley and Kirsty from Teabox.
 
Themed 'A Day in the Life of a Sheffield Appetite', we will take our audience from breakfast and lunch through to the evening meal. We will even have time for 'elevenses' and each meal will be designated to a Sheffield food producer who will give a short demonstration and hand out some tasters to the audience. We're hoping that they'll l share some secrets of the trade so that we can all become experts in the kitchen!
 
With a food quiz thrown into the mix, we hope to make the evening a real foodie treat for anyone interested in supporting our local food industry.  Anyone who is interested can email us at hello@appetite-sheffield.co.uk for further details and to book their place. Places are strictly limited and will be booked on a first come first served basis.  A donation of £5 will be requested on the door and this will cover a drink on arrival and some nominal costs with the balance being donated to Sheffield charities Bluebell Wood Hospice and The Archer Project.

This is a not for profit event and Appetite is grateful to all the producers for donating their time to the event and to Melvin at Fusion Organic Cafe for allowing us to host the venue in their great space at Butcher Works.

The next Cafeology Barista Courses will be on Wednesday 29th February and Monday 12th March.

All Cafeology Barista Courses are based at Cafeology’s Training Facility, Acorn Business Park, Woodseats Close, Sheffield 8

The course usually run in the morning from around 10am to 1.30pm.

We regularly run courses throughout the year and where possible we like to accommodate candidates requests regarding topics and skills they wish to learn more about and include them within the course.

This way the course has a bespoke element to it and each candidate gets maximum benefit from each course they attend. 

On both Wednesday 29th February and Monday 12th March we are running our  ‘Introduction to Coffee and Barista Skills’ course.

John is a UK Barista Judge and has over 20 years experience in the Industry. Candidates achieving the required standard will be awarded a certificate which is recognised within the Coffee Industry.

Napoleons, Ecclesall Road is introducing the first in a series of free wine tasting evenings this Wednesday 14th March.

The fun and informal evenings will give guests the opportunity to try a wide range of wines available at the venue, including those from Australia, Russia, Chile and France, bottles of which will all be served along with dishes from the award-winning restaurant menu.
 

Wine expert, James Grant of Yorkshire wine merchants, Pagendam Pratt, will be co-hosting the event with the Napoleons, Ecclesall Road team and will offer attendees a range of knowledge and tips when buying and choosing wine.

General Manager, Ray Smith said: “This is the first time we’ve held a wine tasting at the venue, but it’s already proving to be a popular event. We’re finding that customers are becoming increasingly interested in the wines on our menu and often want a recommendation, so we thought we’d take it one stage further and host a series of wine tasting events.”

Dinner and jazz is top of the menu for guests attending the Lord Mayor’s charity dinner at Napoleons, Ecclesall Road on Thursday 22nd March.
 

In 2011, Napoleons raised over £6,000 for Councillor Alan Law’s charities in his role as Lord Mayor and the venue is looking to repeat the success for Sylvia Dunkley’s chosen charities: Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind and the British Heart Foundation.

Guests will be treated to a delicious four-course dinner and live entertainment from Bob Ludlam entertainment, a local three piece jazz act and a raffle and auction will take place.
 

Lord Mayor Sylvia Dunkley said: “The charities I have chosen are close to my heart so I’m grateful to Napoleons, Ecclesall Road for their support - it sounds as though it’s going to be a great evening and I’m certainly looking forward to the jazz!”

General Manager, Ray Smith said: “We’ve hosted a number of successful charity nights at the venue and are pleased to support the Lord Mayor once again. The two charities this event will be raising money for do great work so we hope people dig deep and show their support.”
 

Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind continues to be the primary source of services and support for people with sight loss in Sheffield and provides opportunity, support, friendship and services, helping them to achieve whatever they wish to do and whatever they aspire to be.
 

The British Heart Foundation plays a leading role in fighting disease of the heart and circulation and raises money to continue vital research, preventative activity and maintaining quality care for those living with heart disease.
