Saxton's Home Bakery

Handmade bread of character, flavour, and goodness

Saxton's Home Bakery bakes delicious, nutritious bread and buns in the south-west of Sheffield. Mick Saxton created his artisan bakery in May 2011 to produce bread of character and taste using his own natural leaven (sourdough culture) and stoneground organic wheat, spelt, & rye flours. Each bread benefits from a slow initial fermentation that allows wonderful flavours to develop and helps enhance digestibility.

Baking is Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, with bread and buns ready between 12:00pm & 2:00pm. Tuesday and Friday baking focusses on bread, with one or two batches of buns or teacakes; Wednesday baking concentrates solely on buns, English muffins, and fruit loaves. Bread is baked to order, so to ensure your loaf please contact Mick by 4:00pm the day before baking. Buns may be available on the day of baking but as batches are small pre-order is advisable for these too.
Saturday open-days take place roughly once a month for the opportunity to sample and buy from the bakery's range (please call for details).

Bread can be collected from the bakery (check times when ordering), or Mick is able to deliver within a two mile radius of Stainton Road, S11 between 12:45pm and 2:00pm, or early evening.
