Eat Sheffield Awards Regulations

  1. Background
    1. Eat Sheffield Restaurant Awards (the 'Awards') is an annual event, based on votes from the public
    2. These regulations are valid for the 2011 Awards.
  2. Voting
    1. Only a maximum of 10 (ten) votes from a single IP address will be accepted.
    2. Voting Categories
      1. The public voting categories are simply your 5 favourite venues within the Sheffield postcode region
        Public Voting Procedure
      1. The voting process shall be open from 4th July 2011 until 17 October 2011 at 11.59 pm.  No late entries will be counted.
      2. There are 3 ways for the public to vote:-
        1. Voting Cards
          Voting cards will be issued to all restaurateurs who request them.  Each card provides an opportunity for a member of the public to cast their vote in each for their top 5 Sheffield restaurants.  Cards should be sent, before the closing date, to Eat Sheffield, Sheffield Business School, Sheffield Hallam University, Howard Street, Sheffield, S1 1WB.  Any unreturned cards will not be included in the vote count.
        2. Website Voting
          Members of the public can cast their votes by visiting the Awards website (http://www.eatsheffield.com/Restaurant_Awards/). The website provides members of the public the opportunity to vote for their top 5 Sheffield restaurants.  Regulation 2.1. will apply to voting via this method.
        3. Twitter Survey
          Members of the public can cast their votes by visiting the Twitter Survey website (www.twtpoll.com/i8lhcq).  The website provides members of the public the opportunity to vote for their top 5 Sheffield restaurants.  Regulation 2.1. will apply to voting via this method.
    3. Vote Count
      1. All votes from all 3 (three) methods of voting shall be input onto a master spreadsheet and counted.
      2. Eat Sheffield shall have the final decision on the all decisions regarding vote count.
  3. Voting Conditions
    1. Any restaurant found to be tampering with the voting process in any way e.g. rigged voting, may be disqualified from the Awards, and all votes cast for the restaurant may not be counted.  Eat Sheffield reserves the right to take appropriate action regarding this regulation.
    2. Eat Sheffield shall continue to monitor votes for any obvious discrepancies throughout the voting process and vote count.  Any vote that is believed to not be genuine shall not be counted.  Eat Sheffield shall have the final decision on the inclusion of any votes cast.
    3. The Awards are voted for by the public and relies on the engagement of the restaurateurs.  Eat Sheffield cannot guarantee that every vote received is genuine and must trust that all votes come from legitimate sources.
    4. Eat Sheffield shall not be responsible or liable for any lost, incomplete, late or  damaged votes or any communication malfunctions, interrupted or unavailable networks or servers, miscommunications, failed computer hardware or software or other technical failures, any transmission error, traffic congestion, or any technical problem which may cause the voting to be interrupted or corrupted.
  4. Eat Sheffield
    1. Eat Sheffield is a restaurant association for Sheffield and the surrounding area. The primary role of Eat Sheffield is to promote and encourage a thriving and locally distinctive food offering, raising the profile of the restaurant sector which will, in turn, enhance Sheffield's reputation as a progressive and exciting culinary destination.
    2. Eat Sheffield is managed by Sheffield Business School at Sheffield Hallam University.
